another value question?
There is a car in the local area for sale, it's not a garage queen...it's not original, nor is it a show winner! The car started it's life as a 1989 C4...then was modified (by former Ruf employee) to look like a 993 Turbo!
Mods included a 3.6 (1995) with K29 turbo. HP is 410 and the car is very fast...nice turbo twists and big reds to slow her down. The car is in good shape, nicks and some worn paint...but very clean for the most part. When I looked at it at the request of a friend who is interested in it but now I have some questions. 3.6 engine? I looked at the engine and it just don't look like a 3.6 or even a 3.2 for that matter. The fuel system looks like an old CIS and the intake is rather small...the engine model/number stamps are not readable so I could not check it that way. I have never seen a turbo engine up close, but this one did not look like any of the NA 964/993 engines I have seen. The oil filter is not in it's original location...just the one mounted on the engine, is this normal? Now value? Owner is asking for $35k and we talked him down to $32k...is it even worth that? I would think it is worth it, but I value the collective knowledge if this board. Thanks,
