Hello
I have a 1979 911 SC with the original York A/C compressor. I'm starting to get a slight squeaking noise from the compressor clutch. Can the clutch be lubricated or does it have sealed bearings? anyone know? - Larry |

The bearing is sealed but it can be easily removed. The clutch is removed with a clutch tool from autozone. Then drive out the clutch plate with a mallet from behind. The squealing could also be from debris caught in the air gap. Good luck.

It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. Take a look at Rondinone's second suggestion first. Remove the outer nut and pull of the outer plate. I bet you have a bunch of dirt and crap in there which may be scraping with the clutch engages and disengages. At least this was the problem I had with my car.

The best thing you can do to fix your York is to replace it with a Sanden.
