Just got home from Day #3. 320 miles from Hood River, up the east side of the mountains, Ellensburg Canyon, Steven's Pass to home....yeah....so, day 3 was pretty good too...but only two cars can lay claim to actually finishing the '03 Round-Up "full-course"...the other being Darrell in his 968.
Found some *more* great roads on the Washington side of the river...just a little east of Hood River....river canyon roads...my-tee-fine, especially early, before the 100+ degree highs we saw in Yakima and Ellensburg...to bad I forgot my camera.

Boy, I really need to get my priorities straight. That looks like it was amazing!
Don't be too hard on me for missing it. I mean, I feel bad enough already. Please plan another on before Winter, and I promise I'll make it. Damm, those pictures are awesome!

What a great weekend....really enjoyed all your efforts to make the drive so good. The pictures are very cool and the company was great. Already looking forward to the next roundup. Great meeting such nice people. Will really remember Mt. St. Helens....and the river was cool too. Pops and Mary

Looks like you all had a blast - maybe next year for me. I spent the day down at Emory's going through the Roadster and developing a build spec list to bring it up to modern race standards. Here it si with the super rare Roadster hardtop:

Hats off to the organizers, I loved the trip thanks a million!!! After a little nap at the Hood River Brewery and a quick swim at one of the local lakes, my wife took the wheel and we did the couse in reverse ( not the gear). It was really great because some of the best sections were done pushing the car up the hills instead of coasting braking. I found that my wife is one hell of a driver , she is really fast

Hey Mukilteo, reversing the course was smart. We thought we would take the "fast way" home . . . I-5 was a freaking parking-lot . . .. scratch that; it was a freaken RV/SUV gala!

I picked the first photo, as it most closely embodied the experience, from my perspective, anyway. . ..Wheels cruising along the pavement, scenery blasting past, and 911s chasing along. Oh man, that was fast & fun! . . .I'm still recovering. If you liked that shot, just wait for Eric's pict's. He had a bit more passenger time, and set-up some really cool shots.

I used a Minolta Dimage7i. (5Mp, 7x zoom, full manual control . . .that makes the difference.)
. .and another pic; Randy Wells driving "his wifes" ![]() Boxster S.

That was a fantastic drive! Especially chasing Island down the backside of Mt. St. Helens! Great shots Island, I look forward to seeing more, and Eric's shots too. Max's silver 993 was obviously the most photogenic. Too bad Evelyn and I had to leave on Sunday, up that horrible, but faster, I-5. The kids didn't even miss us........... (but the sitters did!)
Met some great people, and we're already looking forward to the RRIII next year! I know some incredible drives in the West Kootenays, Doug (hint hint). Only 6 to 7 hours from Vancouver........I need your support here Gunter!

GREAT time!! just made it back to LA. took the long scenic route but changed the planned pace from leisurely to "flog". i took a few pics of the car between San Francisco and LA. as you can see by the bumper, it was a "Kills Bugs Fast" trip.
Island, your pictures are just AWESOME!! of the 30 or so i took of your car, here is one of about 3 that kinda turned out. I think I have to go lay down now!! max

Wow, what an awesome trip. Great cars, great roads, great scenery, great people, great fun! Not to mention a total reminder of how spoiled we are in this part of the world! Ok, on with more pictures:
