CIS Modifications

I am getting ready to buy a used 2.7. It checked out very well and I plan to run it while I attempt to rebuild my 2.2 E, with a lot of help from my friends!

I have been reseaching CIS motors and I know that one of the few modifications that you can do to CIS is SSI's and a 964 grind style cam. I realize that these are not going to turn the motor into a RS clone by any means, but is there any bang for the buck?

Alternatively, since the car is smog exempt here in NC, how would a set of webbers / PMO's do with stock pistons and cams?

Any and all advice is welcome.

Thanks.

CIS PERFORMANCE

According to the Porsche performance handbook, a 2.7
converted to webers ( 40 ida's) with 964 cams and flat top
pistons, ssi's (or have the cis pistons flycut) puts out I
belive 225 HP. I have heard of a weber big intake kit for the
cis system but I'm not sure of the performance gains.
