Porsche Crest Hi-Torque Starter Upgrade - Wiring Question

I'm in the home stretch of a rebuild of a 1969 911E, and I've hit my first big speedbump, which ironically has nothing to do with the rebuild itself. I'm replacing my starter which was on its last legs with a Hi-Torque. However, since the connectors on the new one don't match the old one, I'm stuck. Can anyone tell me how I connect the wires? Below is a photo of new vs. old with all the connectors labeled.

Good? I find myself in need of a high torque starter myself. Any suggestions?

There is a tech article on this site showing the starter replacement. I just did the job myself on my '83 (purchased from host), but your picture doesn't load so I can't see the differences you might have on your '69. I believe the major differences are with the spade connector. Do you have two wires that require a spade connection and only have one recpetacle on the starter? If so, just use a piggyback connector that you can pick up at any autoparts store. Wish I could help more, but I need more info about your problem.

Thanks for the advice jakermc. Other than the spade connector issue, the only question I have is which way around to connect the two main wires -- one of the contacts on the starter has a blue rubber boot, the other does not -- which is which?

You could put a test light on them while someone turns the key(?). One should give voltage.
I don't know, but the other could be a power feed jumpered from something else but probably not.
Make sure the thick cable is on the starter (disconnect battery) and not hanging there, or you'll be doing some unwanted welding.
My car would barely start before the high-tourqe install, now I can turn the key from outside and it fires first time. Love it.

cool, thanks john. I'm assuming the wire with the power should connect to the terminal with the boot?
