A thanks to the bbs for the 930 brake help

The 930 brakes are functioning properly now thanks to everyone on this board. I got to change the M/C three times so am now an expert at M/C changes. Down to less than 2 hours to change the M/C and bleed the system.
I basically copied Dean's (aka Blown) set up. Dean put up with countless e-mails from me so I owe him many beers if he's ever in the area. Blown, Bill V, Rdane and everyone else, thanks for all the help! I'm going to try the GeorgeM brake manifolds this week.

Yes, very pleased with them. My primary goals was getting a larger rotor on the car. I didn't expect that stopping power would improve as much. Stopping power is awesome. Can't wait to get on the track to fully appreciate them.

Bill, the O-ring was my booster problem. After I put on the O-ring, I found out the NOS M/C was bad. Braking was fine but I was losing the pedal at stop lights. A new M/C from Pelican did the trick.

Hey Dean,
I still have the Porterfield R4-S pads on the car. They're more of a sport pad than true race pad. They don't squeak like pagids but they need some heat to really work. I'll use them for the next two track events and then put OEM's on for the winter.

That looks great.

As a side note, I decided that the Pagid Oranges on my car were to screechy for the Big Bear Run this past weekend. So at the last minute I went to the local corner auto parts store and got two axles worth of Raybestos pads...

...for a whopping $25 per axle.

Darned if they don't stop pretty well, too. I wouldn't use them on the track, but they seem to be better than the cold Pagids for street driving. Go figure.

I wish I could make the 20th. It looks like I'll be out of town that day.
My next track day will hopefully be Chris's German Auto event on Sept 18.

Don, sorry to miss Chris' day, going to be on HWY #1 that week Nice job on the brakes. They look great.

FWIW I am using FERODO pads from our host. No dust compared to Pagid orange or OEM Pagid during track days on like cars with 930 brakes. I had an really annoying sqeal going, pulled my FERODOs and buffed off the paper pad from the rear of the pad and added stick on pads. Not a squeak or chirp since then. Have new pads coming for the next track day but I want to see if the new stickons stay quiet after I heat them up on the track. If so that is $60 an axle and you can use them anywhere, hot or cold. And for the moment anyway they are quiet as a church mouse and easy on the rotors.

on other than 911s I have elinimated disc brake squeel by shaving the edge of the pads at about 45deg.
