"California Type Car" - C03 Option Code

Anybody familiar with the implications of this option code on a 3.2 Carrera?

California cars had a jumper in the engine harness (Terminal 10). That terminal is used to alter the behavior of the DME.

So what does that mean in layman's terms? Is it something you can disconnect or alter to be more in line with the rest of the US? Does it relate to power or emissions?

Thanks.

I'm not sure how it differs.

Thanks for the insight Chris...

Does anyone have a clue as to what these jumpers do?

Like Chris, I am not absolutely certain, but the terminal 10 connection at the DME, the two brown wires on the DME harness are connected together by a male/female electrical connector for California and Japanese cars. I believe its function is to further lean out the air fuel mixture, making the car more compliant with stricter California emissions regulations. This would most likely mean less fuel on acceleration when enrichment is needed. This is why California cars were rated at 200 hp with a factory 0-60 spec of 6.7, while 49 state cars were rated a little higher with a 0-60 of 6.1 seconds. If I were you, I would just disconnect the two wires if the are connected, and not worry about it anymore.
