any early 3.6 conversion guys out there !
With the 3.6 motor fitted is there enough space to use the thermostat from an early 911S. My thoughts are that it will be a little tight in the engine bay !!
Any advice much appreciated Alan.UK |

The short answer is yes.
But clarify a little. What year early car? 72's can pose different problems than other years, because of the different tank location. But I've had the same 3.6 in both a 73 tub and a 72 tub. Plenty of room for the motor, the oil tank, the thermostat, and even AC.

Thanks,
The car will probably be a 73 model 2.4 E, but I have a spare early S tank, thermostat and lines. Its good to know that if necc I can use it. Alan |

You might want to look into whether the early S tank has sufficient capacity for the 3.6. For mine, we did a belt cut across the center of the 72 tank and expanded it by about two inches.
My 73 tank was enough, though, if I remembery it correctly.
