Rennsport Reunion 2004 ????
Did anybody else catch this gem in the newest Panorama on page 50 in the "From The President" article: "Another item of interest is that PCNA will be producing the second Rennsport Reunion in the spring of 2004. As soon at the specific date and location are available you should mark your calendar."
I'm going to try not to get too excited until the details are published but that sure sounds like it's a go to me Anybody have any insight on the location?

I heard rumblings at the first one that the next one would be on the west coast. Makes sense. But it'll be tough to top the 1st one no matter where they have it. -- Curt

Yea, that was a real "orgy" of Porsche racing.

Bah humbug - it didn't compare to the Laguna Seca Historic races for Porsche's 50th anniversary. I'll prove it - see the pics:

Well if it is east of the Mississippi river, I'm going to try to get in it.
How did those of you who were in last time get in? JC, I know Smitty ran his 3.8 RSR, which had a Le Mans history. Do you know if he still has it. . . ?

Wayne, Please try to remember that we have very little Porsche activity on the right coast compared to you left coasters. So any thing we get is truely appreciated. The last Rennsport gathering was the most fun event of it's type I have ever been to(including the CAn_Am races back in the '70s). The PCA club race and double 50 was a close second.
I'm going to do the historics at Watkins Glen in Sept. and am hoping it will be up there in quality.

John,
Smitty still has the 3.8 RSR and he is trying to sell it. It is a real factory 3.8 RSR, correct and original. More details here: http://members.rennlist.com/zero9nine/

I vote Lime Rock! Don't mess with success! Besides, it's easier for the factory to ship the goodies across the pond!

" .... it didn't compare to the Laguna Seca Historic races for Porsche's 50th anniversary."
I'm not so sure about that one. Rennsport was billed as "the largest gathering of racing Porsches ever assembled", including Laguna Seca and the 50/50 at Watkins Glen both 3 years earlier. And at Rennsport, Porsche didn't have to share the stage with those pesky little Ferraris, McLarens, and Packards like at Laguna Seca!! |

Sorry Wayne, but I'm with Curt on that debate. I attended both the 50th Celebration at Laguna and Rennsport and there is no question in my mind that Rennsport was easily the winner hands down.
The pictures and video tape I have from each event will prove it ![]() Heck, maybe us NoVa guys will get lucky and they'll have the '04 event in our backyard at Summit Point.

Curt: You never know what happens when you start something so what have we got to lose, right ? If it is East of the Mississippi then I'll be driving but if it's west then I'll be taking to the friendly skies...
BTW, it will be interesting to see if Brian Redman's company is involved with this one. I heard a rumor that he lost money on the first one so maybe that is why PCNA will be backing this one.

Nothin' like a little coastal rivalry to spice up the forum...
![]() I'm really looking forward to this event since I missed the last one.

I went to the 50-50 at the Glen and made it to Limerock. I was so impressed with the Limerock I wish it would have never ended. I still look at the photo's I took once in a while, what a collection of cars.
