seperating the rotor from the front hub

Does anyone have hints and tricks for seperating the hub from the rotor?

One came apart easily (ok sorta easily, I stood on the rotor, popped right apart) The second one is being very persnickety.

Put the rotor and hub on a couple of blocks of wood. Place the blocks of wood under the rotor face, elevating the hub. Using a hammer & punch (preferably brass), drive the hub away from the rotor with sharp blows around the perimeter of the location where the hub mates with the rotor.

I did what Kevin suggested, but instead of a punch, I used a piece of 2x4 over the center of the hub...a couple of moderate whacks, and they came right out.
