I've changed the oil, air filter, fuel filter and the plugs on the passenger side of my 930. Now it looks like my day project might have gotten longer. I can't even see the plugs on the driver's side of the car. Any tips before I before I begin removing the various parts and hoses to allow access to the driver's side plugs? Any help is appreciated.

Ken, intercooler at least has to come off. You may also find it easier removing hoses of the air pump and check valve, can't quite remember on this latter because I currently don't have them installed since I installed my Fabspeed muffler. Michael

Mike, I have the intercooler off. Although my car is a 1980 930, the motor is actually out of a '78. The original owner (I'm the 3rd) blew the motor up and replaced it with a '78 US 3.3. I see what appears to be a smog pump and other related equipment. Can I remove all of this (permanently) without adverse results? Also, the "smog pump" does not have belt attached to it. I can feel the pully on the back of the pump, but no belt.

Ken, just did 5 days ago, plug change on my 930. Michael is correct on intercooler removal, and I took the air cleaner box off as well; gave me just a little more room. Above all, have patience ! Actually I found the left side plugs harder to replace than remove, especially the lower left one. Enjoy !

Thanks Mike. I appreciate the advice. I ended up taking out the smog pump and associated hoses. I will keep them for the next two years until my next smog check. Hope to see you at a PCA event.
