Can somebody look-up the torque setting for the rear trailing arm bolts for me? The two that go to the spring plate, just behind the toe and camber bolts.
Thanks in advance! My car is sitting on jack stands and I don't want to put the wheel on and drive until I have this info! Thanks! ![]()

Hope this is it . In my '78SC book torque for the 'stabilizer suspender to rear axle trailing arm' is given as 85Nm or 8.5kpm The bolt is described as a Hexagon nut thread M 12 X 1.5
If it's not I'll look again. |

Yea, Bones, can you double check that? I think Ryan is correct. They are 19mm bolts. Two of them. Thanks, man!

know what you mean unfortuneately everybody calls things by different names and there are no diagrams of that in this little book. I cakll a torsion bar an anti-roll bar!? Porsche may be referring to this here as a stabilizer. if someone knows the size of the bolt which I can see in my head then we narrow things down could it be an M16? isn't one an eccentric bolt? if so the torque is 245Nm or 24.5kpm

Bones, not the eccentric bolts. The two at the end of the spring plate that connects it to the trailing arm.
Chad, If you don't get it, I'll look it up when I get home.

I appreciate the help guys. The problem is, I need to finish this today. Do you think 50lbs is safe? Too much, not enough?
19mm head to 19mm nuts.

I think it's in the 60's but it's been around 8 months and I don't know if you want to trust my memory.
Looks like I'll start carrying the Bentleys to work w/ me again next week.

I was thinking 60lbs. I'll give it a shot! Thanks guys. But, can you take a look tonight anyway? If I'm too low, I can retorque it tomorrow. I just need to make sure I have the correct camber for now. I don't want to wait too late and find out I need to adjust the camber or toe and it's dark ![]() Thanks again!

Good Memory, Ryan! It's about 68lbs. It's tough to tell on my torque wrench. It has 88.1 then the next mark is at 101. So it's in the high 60's for sure!
You guys ROCK! Thanks for the work, Bones! That's one nice scanner you have. Small text but still ledgable.

WooHoo! Good job Bones. I can't believe that I was even close. I almost said 30's but thought that couldn't be right.
You have to love this board, I've been stuck many times and able to get an answer in the middle of a project.
