The 901 number was chosen because when the car was being drawn up for production, Porsche and VW had a parts distribution agreement. All the other three digit series numbers were already being used so Porsche got the 900 series numbers. After the 901 was introduced, Peugeot claimed it had rights to all PRODUCTION series cars with a 0 in the middle = so Porsche said ok - 911. And it was good. But then, Porsche, with a sharp stick in a French rib, said but you don't have the rights to RACING cars with a 0. So came the 904, 906 etc. All the other numbers 930 etc. were created when the engineering deparment decided that there were enough changes to warrant a new type number.

Basically the numbers 900 to current day are the engineering project numbers - some of which we will never see....

There will always be time to go to work, clean the house, give a dinner party and fix the disposal." "Take care of the rocks first - the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand."

But then... An Australian student then took the jar which the other students and the professor agreed was full, and proceeded to pour in a glass of beer. Of course the beer filled the remaining spaces within the jar making the jar truly full. Which proves: - that no matter how full your life is, there is always room for a beer; - your life will not be completely full without a beer.

If there is always room for beer and beer is liquid bread and man cannot survive on bread alone, can he survive on family and beer alone?

It seems they should have gone with 829. . . since its pretty much a backwards 928.

Nice story but of course we know it must be apocryphal. No Australian - especially not a student - would EVER waste any portion of beer in such a wanton fashion. Not without passing it through his kidneys first.

I live in Colorado at about 9000 ft. I have still not come up with a "smart ass" enough answer for these questions from the tourists..

...no...im not kidding, i have heard it at leaste 10 times...that's just how stupid america has become.
(BTW...when you are at altitude, the 9000 ' is not that much closer to the sun when you figure it's a billion zillion miles away. It is thinner atmosphere, hence, lest protection from the UV....just incase you were wondering)

Only if he is married. If he is married, he is wrong whether a woman is there or not. If he is not married, then he is right, even if a woman is there.
