Need source for cad-plated metric hardware
Most of my nuts and bolts are fine and I can replate them or clean them up and re-use them..
Some of the suspension bolts I don't want to replate as they can be weakend. I also have some bolts that have seen better days. Anyone know of a comprehensive source of yellow zinc-chromate plated metric fasteners that will allow you to buy in smaller quantities (not boxes of 100). I need hex-head and allen-bolt head bolts, and some washers and nuts as well. I'm looking for grade 8.8 and 10.9 stuff. Most of the places here have either stainless, or lower grade pieces and the selection is crappy. Thanks, Karl

PP will sell you a single bolt, nut or washer. I have bought bits like trailing arm-to-torsion tube bolt, nut, washer. Individual bolts are cheap enough from PP that it hardly seems worth hunting through an industrial supply house etc.

http://www.metricmcc.com/
They have most everything (much of it is German OEM) and will sell you one bolt or one hundred bolts but the smaller the quantity the higher the unit price. $25.00 min order. |

Try www.eagleday.com
They will sell you small quantities of the correct nuts/bolts/fasteners and have some very difficult to find parts/fasteners

Also try www.mcmaster.com
They have a wide selection of metric fasteners. Some hard to find stuff too. The online .pdf catalog is pretty darn good for informative purposes alone!

If PP doesn't have them then try Stoddard in Ohio. I used them for many small pieces that I would have sworn were not available individually or at all.

I've ordered some very strange fasteners from both Brumos and Pelican with a 100% score rate. Prices at both vendors are premium on an individual fastener basis, but not too bad all things considered.

Dave you have exactly the same amount of posts as I....Well, now I'm one up.
Regarding fastners: I feel lucky most of the time just to find that some of these things are still made.
