one side looks like a left and the other a right but why 2 cranks? different cases? what's the story behind them and the story in front of them?

Just thought it odd that 2 identical failures of the same 2.4S engine were in at the same time, rod journal #3 in both cases. 1 I know the history of, the original owner purchased it in '73 and it has never been apart. The others history is unknown. Both went this summer at track events. It is being rebuilt to 2.7RS spec.

This car is more track oriented, 38/38 was the target, they came in a bit smaller but not by much.
Heres the business end of the heads

and with new 90mm Mahles

Should make for very nice package!
