tire compressor source?

I need a new portable tire compressor. Since my car never came with the factory one, I'm thinking of getting one. Other then Ebay, does anyone sell these. Our host just has a "turbo" one that sell for $230. The ones that came originally with our car sell for about $50 one Ebay when they are there. Any other better choices then the original.

Battery powered, or plug-in? I bought a rechargable battery powered one for $40 at walmart that works. Might not last forever, may not fill so quickly, but at $190 less, I'll deal.

Go the walmart route. Gets the same job done, cheaper.

I got a Coleman Powermate free for test driving a Miata at the dealership. It plus into the cigarette lighter, has flashing red lights and does a good job on tires and inflatables.

It can't be very expensive.

£15.00 Halfords UK had it two years still looks new despite being used often, cig ' lighter powered. The Walmart item sounds similar. Unless it's the original Porche item you want just because it's nice to own, anything more expensive is a rip-off.

The one with the Porsche label is the same as the Intermatics...

Cool Tire Inflator

If you want the original Porsche type inflator, (and I hope that I am not stepping on any toes here. If so , I apologize in advance.) try Automobile Atlanta in Marietta, Ga. The inflator was missing when I bought my '80 SC and I got one of the originals there. About $75.00 if I recall correctly. If you are not concerned about originality, by all means buy one from our host.

I bought one (2-3 years ago) from Brumos Porsche, for about $40. They run a special every now and then, worth a phone call if you want one that says Porsche on it.
