Gotta be able to wrench on it myself... that's why I went with the '70 in the first place... I'd say a '68-'77 Corvette with fresh engine, 550 lb front springs, 355 lb rear fiberglass spring, Konis all the way around, and a 4-speed.

Didn't have an extra $70K burning a hole in my pocket but I managed to get a tweaked '83: http://www.istari.com/public/urquatt...nTelluride.jpg only found a little bit of mud the other weekend and still need to remove some of the blasphemic body attachements some PO put on the doors! on the other hand, some people get really torqued-off when I blast by them in my '91 Audi 200 wagon, scared the willies out of a poor little red boxster S that couldn't keep up a couple of weeks ago :D |

I had an SC400 before my Porsche. My wife still drives an LS400. A 1965 Fastback Mustang with a side oiler 427 and dual quads.
Colour would be Candy Apple Red. Wheels and tires...Crager mags with Tiger Paw orange stripe. 4 speed of course....with a 4.71 Detroit Locker. I have built this car twice...for other people (different colours). Maybe I could keep this one. Bob |

For a classic weekend canyon carver and track car, I would love to have a BMW e30 M3. Other choices would be a an early 70's Alfa GTV or Lotus Europa Twin Cam.

I would probably do a Viper. I kinda want to add one to the stable anyway. On a more fantasy trip I guess a F 360 would be a hoot.

I did some research also. A Rover 2.8 V8 would fit nicely and its 65 lbs. lighter than the cast iron 6. Probably need to go with a Jap drive train though.
It's a great handling car but it has the opposite problem from the Porsche, its very nose heavy. I wouldn't want to put any more weight up front. Its about the same weight as my Porsche. With an extra hundred hp it would be a little beast. :eek: |
