would you re use these cylinders?
I'm not passing judgment on these cylinders. they're available for what I feel is a pretty good price, provided they are within spec.
as you can see in these pictures the top fin on 3 of them has a corner cracked off. how big of an issue is this? I know it's not Ideal. what are some of the long term consequences of running these. cooling problems? more cracks? ![]() ![]() I really don't think the cracked fins would make much of a difference. what do you think?

Al,
My educated guess would be there would be more concern of more cracks or continuation of cracking where the damage already is, seeing as how that metal is now exposed. I'd think the heat dissipation issue would be more a matter of degree than kind. Locally, at the site of the crack, the adjacent metal in the barrel wouldn't be able to dissipate as efficiently...but could you really measure that? Ryan
