Chuck Yeager also had his ass handed to him on a plater by a hot stick FW-190 driver....

He was lucky enough to evade capture after bailing out, crossed into Spain and made his way back to England where after appealing all the way to Ike he was allowed to rejoin his squadron and fly combat.
