				 | Good Question
It's about all engine comp. electric wires. How can they all be shielded from causing a fire or protected from a fire.. fireproof fuel lines are only good for less than a few minutes in fire. besides putting them into metal tubing..Huh ?

I bought my '73 at an insurance auction after it had an engine fire. Rubber fuel lines don't last forever. I think that fuel leaking on hot engine parts is a bigger concern than an electrical fire.

Wiring in a fire? Considering electrical wiring is often the *source* of the fire, it's pretty hard to protect it.

You can try to find Raylon (?) -isolated wire used in aircrafts. It's made to withstand heat and crumble insted of burning.

There was a product used in armoured vehicles that looked like asbestos woven into something like a child's finger trap. The stuff was amazing....stayed soft...did not shrink....and was easy to cut (with scissors). It was off-white in colour and came in several sizes. Can't help with the name. It was rated for hours of protection. Bob
