got my 964 lid...where's those instructions...
I'm looking for the instruction website to put a 964 decklid on an early car...I know the hinges are different, I'm looking for the wiring/relay/control module to make the moveable wing switch activated.

Thom Fitzpatrick posted my wiring diagram on his website. His username on Pelican is widebody911. If you do a search, you'll find the link to his website in his signature line.

you guys rock...thanks so much.
BTW..I only had to bend the brackets a little to get the decklid on the '67...there's a couple of spots where the hinges rub, but all I needed after that was a few washers to get the gap right. it fits great...and looks pretty sweet...the lid I got came with the 993 winglet at the top of the lid....gonna be taking that off I think, even though the third brakelight would be great. here's pics manually opened and closed. ![]() ![]() sjd just needs paint.

one more question for you guys...
the micro switches are a Normally Open style...when activated they close the contacts...This is where I was getting confused...some of the stuff I read insinuated that they were Normally closed style.... sjd

Looks great. I would definitely loose the winglet, though. IMO, it wouldn't even look very good on a 993.

Yes, you are right. That's why my original wiring diagram required two dual position relays to properly cut the power to the motor when the microswithes were actuated. With the one-touch set-up, it took a little thinking, but I figured out that if I switched the two powers and one ground at the switch, to two grounds and one power, then it'd work. Then all I had to do was hook up the remote trigger feature of the one-touch unit, which has two trigger wires, to the appropriate two microswitch wires, and bam, I was in business! I went back to a ducktail on my car, and lost interest in making it speed activated automatically, but it'd be relatively easy to do, I suspect.

I'm really impressed - and curious. All the other threads on mounting this decklid have very intricate and elegant hinge modifications. You, on the other hand, "just bent the brackets a little bit!" Do I understand that you used the stock 911 brackets, bent them appropriately, and with just a couple of washers it works for your 964 lid? That's great! And I would like to follow your lead - how did you do it?

how about a pic.
the holes in the 964 lid are 2 7/8" apart. I just marked and drilled an extra, slightly oversize hole, and mounted the lid. the front edge of the lid was lower than the sheetmetal surrounding it, so i grabbed a couple of washers and spaced it up. you can see in the pic that I have the stamped metal mounts...they're suprisingly pliable. somewhere along the way, they switched to the tubluar mounts...You can also see where I had to grind away at the rear most corner in order for it to clear the drip channel around the decklid. The lower of the two bolts is the one that's spacered out. (or the forward most when the lid is closed) you can see the gap... ![]() talk to y'all later...Off to watch monterrey. sjd

Just did a conversion myself. My project 69` is coming along strong. Here`s some pics. BTW I also prepped a standard lid just to have if I want. Might as well put that expensive nogaro blue paint to use.
Kurt Williams ![]() ![]() ![]() http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads2/RESTORED21064192383.jpg[/img] ![]() Notice how the 964 hinges where cut and rewelded to turn in therefore properly adapting to the early chassis. Also shown is a picture of the additional hood strut purch welded in that was cut from a donor car. Car goes in for paint this wendsday. These pictures are from 1 month ago.
