Porsche Crest Show me silver 911's with stripes!

OK, here's my idea: I'm planning on personalizing my 75 911S and need some help. The first step is to remove the rocker covers to give it a back-dated look, secondly, I'd like to add some graphics to the car and possibly colour-match the wheel centers to match. Now, I know it's not a Carrera so I'll be leaning towards a vintage PORSCHE script, either the stripes and logo decal set that I put on my 912 or the mid-year ghosted PORSCHE decal.

The question: the car is silver with a black interior so what colour should I go with the graphics/wheel centers? I'm leaning towards red but also think that orange or yellow might also be striking. Here's the car right now:

For you photoshop experts out there, how about playing with the above pic to match the coming (I hope) suggestions? And for those who think I should leave it alone, it's my car and I'm bored so changes are coming so you can't talk me out of it.

Also, if you have pics of silver 911's with contrasting decal packages, let me see them! All ideas are good ones!

At least you're not selling it! Remove the rockers first, that car would look 100 times better just with that. As for the colors, I'll wait for the photoshop guys, I've always been a big fan of silver with black accents, yeah, I know it's boring. I would say no rockers, silver Porsche script, black fuchs with polished lips.

I like silver with black accents. As far as the Fuchs are concerned, think about a grey/silver background. I had black background on my silver car, but it just didn't do it for me. My friend's car has the grey background and I think it looks really nice with a little less contrast. If I would have known what my wheels would look like with the grey background, I would probably still own them today.

I can't help myself but I think this is pretty cool. Of course part of me thinks that this should be in the closet with the bellbottoms!

White on a silver car? I remember seeing a prototype 911 Turbo like that... I liked it!

Mike, I like the white. I know it is not Porsche script, but here is black on silver:

Bob Tilton's car is the new gold standard of silver 911's.

Not to be picky.....but since so many others have nit picked this subject before....but isn't the side script centered incorrectly?

BTW, gorgeous car and cool single letter blue plate.....

It's not supposed to be centered. There's a left and a right piece. On the driver's side, the break in the thicker middle stripe is usually by the front door seam, like on Bob's.

The text should all be on the door itself.

(At last that's what I've always seen.)

If I were you, I wouldn't do anything but restore the black between the spokes on your Fuchs. But if you simply must have the Porsche script, I think you should do it just like Bob Tilton's car. If you do it in any other color but black, it won't look right IMO, and you'll probably regret it down the road.

The beauty of the vinyl script is that if you want to change it....it peels RIGHT OFF....I change the color on mine every six months. The PITA is the matching wheels....

Next time I think I will polish the wheels completely and just change the script color....

That car is just perfect. It would be a shame to touch it.

Maybe I should go right off the wall and source a set of these decals for the car:

If money weren't an object, this is what I'd be doing!

Yes, I know it's a model...

Man...I have to agree with Bill Douglas. Your car looks fantastic as is - the essence of silver 911. But if I had that beautiful silver, I know I couldn't resist putting a red Sunoco Pegasus on the front fender. (Silly, I know, but still...)
