Hand Throttle/Heat Control Friction Disks
Hey All,
Normally I'm a lurker on this board, but I've run into a problem I hope you can help me with... I acquired a '74 911 Targa a year or so ago which I'm slowly re-building. When I took apart the e-brake cluster for cleaning and re-painting, I found that the friction disks were cracked. They fell apart as soon as I loosened the lock nuts. I just called Pelican and learned that these are NLA from Porsche. Anyone know what the material is and where I could find it so I can fab my own disks? Any other suggestions? Thanks!

Sorry I don't know what the material is either off hand, but I agree it shouldn't be difficult to fabricate somehow...try looking at a local hardware store at similar material. Or try posting on Pelican's classifieds...you know someone is bound to have these parts laying around not being used. I'll bet you can get them from someone here. Good luck!
