Wheels on a 73 1/2
I have run across a CofA for a 1973 911T (CIS car)
that has "Light Alloy Wheels" on the CofA. I was wondering if that meant Mahle gas burners or ATS cookie cutters. I am assuming it does not mean fuchs alloys. Pictures would be great if you know your car is stock. Thanks, Mike

Stock '73
This is a stock 1973-1/2T (identical to the one I bought slightly used in '75)
![]() I don't think the 'gas burners' were offered on any Porsche after 1971. I have seen them only on one or two original 1970 911s. Of course, a dealer might have swapped wheels...

I might be mistaken, but I think Porsche referred to all aluminum wheels as "light alloy wheels". I seem to remember them referred to in this manner in my '76 Tech Spec booklet.
I think "light alloy" in this case means aluminum alloy. I've been wrong before though... :>) Mike
