Rick,

Here's another set of headers I made recently for a vintage Ford Cortina racer. Although they're not Porsche related, they do a decent job of illustrating equal primary lengths.

To answer your earlier question about length; usually I work towards a specific primary length (as recommended by the engine builder, or a result of dyno testing). Unless space restricts things, I try not to stray too far away from the original design intent. You can drive yourself crazy getting everything equal down to the last millimeter if you really want to. My advice is to not sweat it too hard for your first set.
