Engine Rebuild: Separation and Cleaning
While waiting on the engine yolk to get the engine up on the stand I used the time to remove the ancillary components off the engine and did some clean up.
Also cleaned the engine bay and installed my Bilstein HD shocks. The engine quietly waiting for the engine yolk. Still need to remove the fan shroud.

Looks great Kurt. I still have a dead spot on my lawn from doing exactly the same thing to my '75 transmission.

Great job Kurt
You are giving me the inspiration to get mine done too soon as my transmission & engine are also sitting on the floor right now

Nice Kurt..that is one of the reasons I like to take trans and engine out together. Now take all the tin off the engine and go get it powder coated...it'll look better and resist corrosion better. I got all my tin done for $80!

Good to see many people cleaning stuff up while they've got the drivetrain out. A clean engine & trans. is a happy engine and trans.!
Also makes leaks easier to detect. I'd recommend replacing that alt., fuel inj. harness as long as you're in there. Mine and a friend's were pretty crispy when we replaced ours. Might want to think about rebuilding/replacing the main fuel line under the intake as well. Another troublesome bugger than bites you when you least expect it.

That sure looks a lot easier than disassembling the 915 case and scrubbing each section with a toilet brush and several toothbrushes. Oh, the hours I'll never regain.
