Running Lights
The passenger side running lights will operate for about 15 sec and then quit--not working again unless car is left alone for an hour or so. This is all with engine off so engine heat is not a factor,(1986 930). I have confirmed all bulbs are good. What kind of relay/fuse/diode would possibly cause just one side to fail after a short time of working. Thanks.

The '86 Carrera (and only the '86) has a diode that controls the passenger side running lights. Don't ask me why they have one. Yours is probably going bad, assuming the 930 has the same electrics. The diode is about 3 inches long and 1/4 inch wide in a semi opaque yellow housing located under the dash and I think to the left of the ignition switch. Not hard to find as it is the only thing under there that looks like what I am describing. You can either replace the diode, or do that I did and just take it out of the system.
