BAE turbosystem for Porsche 911 CIS based motors. Fits 2.7 and 3.0 with stock injection. These systems were made availible when Porsche stopped importing the 930 turbos. Includes the following:

Rajay turbocharger
exhaust manifold
Adjustable blow-off-valve
Powdercoated boost and draw tubing
Silicone couplers
left side cam cover
silicone couplers for CIS

Operates on 5 p.s.i. No internal modifications nessesary. Uses blow-off-valve to regulate boost (allthough I would recommend a wastegate for backup). System as is will produce additional 50 - 60 HP. Add fuel enrichment, more boost, up to 300HP. Turbocharger needs to be rebuilt. Also need AN oil lines (availible at most speed shops) to run oil to turbo. Kit sold as is. $850 obo

Okay, my 2 cents is I wouldn't skimp on something that will potentially add a lot of stress to an SC engine. From what little I've heard of BAE turbos and 3.0s is they work, but how well I don't know. This was an option back in the early 80s for SC owners who didn't want to shell out the coin for a real turbo.

My question is if the unit you're in which you are interested requires a rebuild, and parts are necessary for the rebuild, from where will you get them for a unit that has been discontinued? I've seen no one on this board but rfng (Richard), who offers a turbo kit for the SC, so you might want to look into his offering.

Second option - do it right, buy a turbo motor if you really want to do the turbo thing. Stephen Kasper at Imagineauto (?) can help you locate a turbo 3.0 or 3.3. He's a great guy.

A good resource on the board is Rarly L8 (Brian) and Cowtown (Colin). They've both adapted turbo engines to their cars. Their word is pretty sacred in my book when it comes to this sort of modification.

Your third option is to buy a turbo Porsche: It comes with all needed materials - like suspension, brakes and a tranny that will better withstand the torque the turbo motor will put out. Lately, I've seen turbo Porsches for $17K; fairly cheap IMHO.

I just saw this on a Porsche dismantler website:

"1976 Carrera 3.0 Turbo, 49,000 miles, intercooler, K27, Carrera tensioners ... $6500"

That is the route I would go to get a turbo if I were interested. But I would have some bucks left over to fix it if there were problems.
