I have another (stupid?) question. I have a 79 911 SC and where the fuel lines go into the heads are the lines supposed to have "play" in them where they fasten into the engine?? It only seems like the rear most two lines on either side have the "wiggle" in them...
It seems wierd but possible.. Thanks Alex |

The fuel lines are screwed into the injectors, which then go into the plenum. The injectors sit in stiff o-rings which don't allow for a lot of play, but I guess a little is possible. If two are noticibly loose, I'd check out those o-rings.

Why not squirt some carb cleaner on them at idle and see if that affects the idle. If they aren't leaking, I would leave them alone.

To remove these, I just have to gently pull them out of the plenum? Then disconnect the injector from the line?? Is there only one o-ring I need to be concerned with??

The sleeves are peened in place and are not that easy to remove even if they wiggle easily. That's why I say if they aren't leaking although they may feel loose, leave them alone. You may be asking for a lot of trouble with very little benefit.
