flapper box location

Where is the flapper box for the heater controls that are located between the seats? Is it directly below, or remote? I hear cables pinging a little when the levers are raised so I assume they are towards the rear somewhere.

I had a critter stink problem and have vacuumed out from all ends of the heat system except the flapper area. I was surprised to see the bottom of the car totally covered by the full size pan underneath! How do you actually get to the flapper box ans how hard is it to access the heat hoses there?

Paul

follow the heat ducts from the exhaust heater boxes. The dump valves are visible above the half shafts. They are rotary valves not flapppers

Bill,
You couldn't have made it any clearer! Thanks.
