I am looking to buy a jack soon too. Looks like a nice one. Do you know how low this one will go?

Looks like the Harbor Freight one. But if it comes with a lifetime warranty, it's a better bargain.

Other than the support from Sears -- what is the advantage of this jack over the blue ones on eBay (that are going for from $50 to $80)? That's a big premium for the right of return privilege.

Here is the Harbor Freight jack. It only has 3,000 lbs of capacity, as compared to 4000 for the Sears jack. It has a lift height of 17.5", versus 18.5" for the Sears jack. For an extra $21, I'd prefer the peace of mind of knowing Sears was standing behind the product. Harbor Freight stuff can be "iffy" at times.

You can't beat this jack for design, strength and quality. It's what I use *exclusively*:

What's its warranty? That'd be the key thing, to me.
It looks like it's somewhere between the 35#/3000# Harbor Freight model and the 55#/4000# model they sell. The tallest one of all is Drivewerks', but they don't have an aluminum model, which is what makes all the difference if you're bringing it to the track.

The Craftsman one is warranteed for 1 year, I checked. It appears to be of better quality than some that I have seen, (Harbor Freight?), but can't say for sure. I hvae owned quite a few cheapo floor jacks in my time, you definitely get what you pay for, but even the crap ones usually don't break. They are already *****e to start with.
![]() And I don't put my life on the line by crawling under cars that are supported only by floor jacks, so it doesn't matter if they are made in TJ. ![]()

Wayne, Would you be willing to offer us the jack that PelicanParts offers for the same price that you "bought" it for?
If not, then you are merely advertising your jack, using emotional argumentation ("when my life's on the line"). Not worthy of this board, sorry.

I'd buy the AC Hydraulics one, but it's not cheap, and I really don't wanna know how much shipping will be to me. I've been looking at the Craftsman one too....light(er), and low profile.

I have bought three 3-ton jacks from Sears within the last 1.5 years (maybe even the last 12 months). 2 yellow heavy duty and 1 yellow SUV. 2 leaked after a few months. Homer on me, but I thought it was normal. Warranty?????? Please wake up....for the price, you might as well buy a new unit.
Not kissing up, but I 'think' the next one would be the highlift from DWerks. |

I got one.....lifted the wife's SUV pig with no problem. I liked the one pump, lift to the bumper option.....

I have a 2 1/2 ton Craftsman jack that blew a seal about 2 years into ownership. I brought it back to Sears and they said jacks weren't covered. I had to bring it to a hydraulic service shop to have it fixed for around $30.
Hopefully Sears has changed their "return" policy on jacks.

I have to agree with the Spend More on a good jack approach. If it's well made in the first place you'll have it forever. Parts availabilty are an important factor as well.

I have a cheap jack that has, unfortunately, been trouble-free for years.
When it goes belly-up, I'm buying a good one from Wayne, for two reasons- -I want a quality jack -I appreciate this forum. |

A lot of us have reason to take the jack with us occasionally for track days. You can't beat the aluminum jack for poratability and it's nice at 35 lbs. to move around the car. At home, in the shop or garage, I prefer the formidable jack over the light weight, if for nothing else, to save the light weight one from yeoman's duty.
