slowly understanding CIS. need mo help....
history: car sat long time, wont start, fuel weeping from muffler.
found leaking fuel accumulator, and changed it pronto. what is happening now: hydrolock motor, removed plugs turned motor and belched out gas mostly from #6. pulled #1 and #4 injectors, and started fuel pump. noticed lack of resistance on air sensor arm, (lack of pressure, right?) after holding up the limp arm anyways (for 30 secs), i get a decent spray from #4 and a more anemic one from #1. both sprays come on slowly. limp arm made me think the plunger was stuck in the up position, but further reading this morning in the reading room is making me lean toward the WUR. hope so, it's cheaper. anyways had to quit, it got dark and i get nervous ; lights + fuel = me rolling around in the wet grass. i am old enough to remember dick van dyke saying, "stop, drop and roll!". i will hook up the gauge in this morning. oh yea, watson in his bosch book says to bypass the fuel pump jumper; " place an 8 amp jumper wire btween relay socket term 30/51 and 87" ok i am a dork, where is my FP relay? 1975 911, my FP is in back. cliff |

If your distributor plunger is stuck and you are getting uneven flow out of your injectors I would suggest getting the distributor rebuilt and having the injectors tested.
Once that is done all you need is the right fuel and WUR pressures. Last edited by 350HP930; 11-08-2003 at 07:28 AM.. |

I would pull the fuel distributor and clean the crud out of it. A cis engine that sat for a long long time deserves a complete cleaing of all the fuel componets.
It is likely that your FD needs to be rebuilt as 350 said, but I'd try to clean it first. It'll also give you a chance to inspect it for free movement of the plunger. |
