				warm starting problem

my car has just developed a change. it starts first turn when cold (without me having to touch the gas pedal), no matter how long i've left it. But now if i turn off the engine and try to restart it, it can take many many turns to catch, and i usually have to give it a bit of gas. i have noticed that the idle in cold weather is very uneven, not rough, just as if the throttle is being gently pressed up and down. this goes away when the engine is warm. i don't know if this is related but i thought i'd mention it anyway. many thanks in advance for all your help, it's always great to be able to shove a question out there to kick-start the repair process justin
