Thumbs up Air Box Size

I blew my air box on my 1983 3.0 engine
i do not know if this is a Euro engine .

I measured the intakes and the following
outside diameter is 43mm and inside diameter is36 mm

does anybody know which airbox i need (seems that there is two sizes)

You should definitely check your engine ID number. It should be located around the oil pressure sender to the right of fan housing. For 81-83, 930/16 is an American motor and 930/10 is for the rest of the world.

This is where you check for your engine type as previously posted. Not the engine serial number near the front side of the fan (although that can be crossreferenced too), but the smaller 930/XX number farther back...just to the right of the fan, behind and below the oil pressure sender:
There is more to it if you do not know the history of the motor though. 78-79 and Euro intakes/ported heads are often added as an upgrade when rebuilding due to bigger ports and better breathing (more horsepower). The airbox for these have larger intakes......I think they are 45 mm for the 78-79 and Euro and 38 mm for US. Guys that lurk on the engine rebuild thread could verify this for you.

There are at least 2 air boxes. I got cought on this issue way back when. Unfortunately it was sooo long ago that the documentation is not easily accessed(its in a box somewhere )

Give us the engine # and the corresponding parts can be found.
