Jack.... do a script for a movie based on the AVG. You know, the Flying Tigers in China at the start of WWII. TONS of great stories in there, have always thought it would make a fantastic flick if done right.....

Congrats on the article!

Terry,
Yeah. I remember the old one with John Wayne and Bruce Carrol (?). I forget the actress they were fighting over. It could have used less love story and a lot more historical context, but it was okay. The AVG/Flying Tigers is an interesting chapter in our history though. Here's a couple of sites I visited - good for historical info.

Didn't mean to hijack the thread.

My understanding about the flying tigers is that the real story is not so pretty. Ive read (more than once) the general and his cohorts were quite the smugglers, particularly with gem stones , gold and opium.

Me too, sorry for the hijack, Paul

Not to get too far off topic, but a friend of mine is in charge of an upcoming HBO series about the war in the Pacific -- he also worked on Band of Brothers, and this is the same people (Spielberg, Hanks, etc.) who did the first one.

So some of the stories from that half of the war are going to get told.

Great article on BB2. I'd like more info on the Fuchs wheels (ie: source) and tire sizes.

They're made by Lindsey Racing in Oklahoma from Fuchs centers. They are 9.5x11x17, and I run 255/315 tires on them.
