Be more specific I guess. like 'cis' for injection system etc. Anything in particular you are looking for?

No, not really just general info. I bought a 79 Targa from a fellow Pelican member today in Portland OR I am from WA and sitting here at my relatives just itching to get started on her!! Ya know! upgrades and such.

First, take a deep breath, then think about it. If you could search for just "SC" you would get, literally, hundreds of pages of "hits". You still wouldn't know where to begin reading. Try to narrow your search to something more specific, suspension, CIS, electrical system, valve timing, interior, wheels, tires, etc. Good luck with the "upgrades".

If you're looking for general info on the SC models, you should read the SC FAQ on Rennlist. Located here. It will give a good over-view of the SC's and some popular modifications and upgrades. Jerry M '78 SC |

I have also found the limitation a bit annoying.
I am contemplating buying a C4. I know there are a few issues with the car and want to do a little research on them. I can't do a search on "heads AND C4" because C4 is not considered a word. If I search on "heads" only I would need to weed through posts on other models. I know I can use 964, but then I may miss posts where the car is referred to only as a C4. oh well, life is not perfect. I'm sure the developers of the BBS software put the limitation in for a good reason. Regards, Scott

My point exactly because even if I search CIS it give all of the cis threads not just the sc ones. I thought maybe you could use a wildcard but I dont know how

You are unable to do a search for "SC" because you do not have proper security clearance.
Start with a search for "SCWDP". Now your on the right track.

Soooo..I figured out a way to do the search for just "SC"....but I can't tell you!
![]() Seriously. I figured it out, but the results are huge and these kinda searches will seriously tax the DB. If Wayne is OK with it, I would tell ya how..but I figure he put a minimum 3 letter search limit for a good reason.

Just figured it out also.
Got like 29115 posts for just "cs". Tried it with "C4 AND heads" and only got 24 results. So if a 2 letter is used with another qualifier it may not be so bad. Scott

Thanks Moses, Now that I finally got rid of that long nose and into the best 911 years I need to find my scwdp badges, stickers, etc. I did a search for scwdp and got lots of info.

The software won't let you search on a word less than 3 letters. SC or RS gets the error message. Try 911SC.

You can also wildcard SC as "SC*". It'll bring up all records with words that begin with Sc, but if you limit the search to thread titles, it works for the most part.
back to lurking...

I just tried enabling two-character searching. I need to rebuild the indexes and then see if this takes down the server...
