If you wait until tomorrow to get stiches, they won't stich it up. After a certain amount of time has passed they will not stich it up due to the fact that infection could set in. Either go now or don't bother to go at all. How do I know this? From past experience plus my wife is an EMT at the hospital and ambulance.

OK, there I was, cutting a pollution control valve off the water hose from my TR6 (air cooled is much better). I am holding the object in my left hand and wielding a paring knife in my right hand. Knife slips and cuts left hand. Hand bleeds. Switch knife to left hand. Knife slips and cuts right hand. Hand bleeds. Girlfriend, now wife, drives up surveys the damage and announces "well that is very impressive". Scars at the base of both thumbs. Sorry no photos.

It is what cyanoacrylate was orignally developed for anyways. It won't even leave you with much of a scar.

But make SURE it is cleaned out first.

Why is it when someone gets hurt everyone has this (Yeah you should have seen me when I) fill in the blank.

Sure I have been hurt worse and even did it to myself but I don't really see the need to give all the horror stories.

I worked construction all my life and have seen every kind of injury. I really don't care to relive them.

Just my little 2 cents

In my college shop class, I was balancing a front tire with an old model Hunter wheel balancer, the kind that friction-locks onto the wheel. There are knobs and spindles on the hub that distribute and add/subtract weight as the front wheel is spun by a motorized roller.

At approx. 45 mph, as I sit on a low, mobile mechanic's cart, it decides to part company with the wheel. The balancer spins like a top, then proceeds to climb up my leg where it slices a 4 in. gash from my calf. What hurt the most was when the student health center "doctor" stitched the wound in an area not numbed by novacaine.

Then there was the time my brother's father-in-law, a contractor, slipped and nail-gunned his knee with a 16 penny load. His knee was nailed in position until he got to the hospital.

BTW, nice camera shot with your free (left?) hand. I've always thought camera shutter releases should be ambidextrous, especially handy to document right hand injuries. :)

In high school we had Optimist kids....orphans that attended our school. One of the kids was not too high up the Darwin scale and was doing some drill press work. He was unsupervised, had long hair and no tie back for the hair......

He sported a crew cut for the next two years. Never did grow it right in the area that got customized.....

Had something sort of sililar last week.

Putting a transmission back on a 911 motor, tightening up all the bolts, wrench slipped, knuckle on ring finger got snagged on the Heat exchanget outlet (SSIs).

Made a nice "pop-top" cover for my knuckle.

Waited too long to get it stitched...
