not for weak stomachs

I was removing the window weather striping to remove the glass and seconds after the thought crossed my mind 'you shouldn't be cutting toward your self, you're going to slip' I did. Here's a great example of what not to do...

I'll probably have to hit the hospital tommorow to get stitches (it went past all skin and I can see the fat and muscle, looks just like it does on the opperation channel, kinda cool actually :) )

Anybody else have any painful learning experiences?

The previously profusely bleeding,

Adam ;)

But I bet you didn't fell any pain.:D
DAMN!

sweater914 12-02-2003 02:36 AM

my dad dropped a transmission on his face, more specifically on his front tooth, didn't know what the scream was about until i saw tooth wasn't completely knocked out just bent back about 45 degrees, the dentist set the tooth straight that very day and he did not lose the root to rot

nice slice job though, i little closer left or right and you'd be part of the darwin awards ;)

k9handler 12-02-2003 02:38 AM

ouch!

Dbelleperc 12-02-2003 03:01 AM

And now people are going to think that you tried to kill yourself.:D

I wouldn't wait too long. You can stitch a wound for 6 hours after the cut, afterwards, the infection is a certainty if you close it (yes I'm a doc).

cegerer 12-02-2003 03:26 AM

Nice! BTW, I imbedded an Exacto knife into the side of my knee one time. Had that same thought just before it happened, 'I really shouldn't be cutting like this .........'

I have about a 1 inch scar on my left hand, (12 stitches) cut with a razor blade installing a stereo. Welcome to the club!

Do not wait to have this looked at by a doctor!. You can not begin to imagine what can happen if infection occurs.
Go Now!

I cut the "pouch" between my left thumb and forefinger. I could see underneath the skin almost all the way to my palm. Didn't think to take a pic though. :-)

Eric Mckenna 12-02-2003 05:15 AM

NICE!
be careful man! but I am sure you needed to hear that, hahha
hope it heals fast .. it's in a bad location.

Mikkel 12-02-2003 05:18 AM

Argh

I say see a doctor. Just to be on the safe side.

Schrup 12-02-2003 05:19 AM

Yuk:eek: http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/...s/pukeface.gif Adam, hope you make it to a doctor soon. Where you in a hurry?

TerryBPP 12-02-2003 05:27 AM

Just use a Jack Daniels for anticeptic and a butterfly bandage you wuss.

rcecale 12-02-2003 05:34 AM

Kinda reminds me of the Safety Posters we used to post around the shop while I was in the Marine Corps....kinda like this one...

I did the same thing a few years ago. Closed it with superglue. Big dose of Rocephin. Healed well. Don't risk infection.

Silveresrty911S 12-02-2003 05:46 AM

I do something stupid like that on a yearly basis (construction). I once nailed my middle finger(no damage to the high sign) to a 4x12 patio beam with my 16 penny gun while standing on a ladder. Didn't have my bags on so no hammer to pull it, screamed at my laborer for a hammer, that left a mark! ;)
Take care of that hand!

RickM 12-02-2003 05:48 AM

I'd pour some Hydrogen Peroxide in their and go to the doc for a few stitches. Because of it's location that puppy will continually reopen.

Superman 12-02-2003 05:58 AM

I've seen my bones and muscle too. Kinda cool. Kinda wish I had a "dueling scar" on my cheek. Congratulations, assuming it does not get infected.
