How do you find driving a lhd over here in the uk?
i almost bought one from formula fuchs.

no problem with lhd - unless you go to a drive through alone, then you got to be flexible:D

honestly its no bother at all. the cars a little cheaper and they can be better maintained from somewhere like germany - plus they were meant to be lhd:D

i nearly went to formula fuch to look at a cab - they get some nice cars (all imports) but not sure about their rep?

The car i was interested in a slate grey carrera has been on there books for ages as well as a few others.....makes you wonder whats up with them.
I bought my 88 private-risky i know but the condition and history were a1.

i wouldnt worry about them having them on their books for months, they a specialist cars and they dont shift quckly (generally).

i bought through a dealer but that said i would buy privately.

Dickster- nice write-up with pics no less! Just as a friend though, I would recommend applying Loctite to the six small metric countersunk bolts holding the wheel itself to the hub. I would use either purple or blue, but nothing stronger than that. I had MOMO Monte Carlo wheels on three different cars and at some point, usually while driving, the bolts would come loose. I must have tightened the bolts on my Corrado's MOMO wheel about six times in three years.

If you noticed, the metric countersunk bolts they supply with the hub kit are not really trust worthy in my opinion. They are not of a high grade, so the countersink angle might be alittle off than the contersink angle of the wheel. Also, the allen slot seams to be very shallow, even for the small diameter and thread pitch. There was no way I was able to torque these bolts without rounding out the slot, and I was using brand new bits. I torque bolts everyday, as small as 6-32 and 8-32, and I had trouble with this little bolt, although I do forget the value I used, it was about 8 eyears ago now. And that cheap little allen key they supply will probable last you three uses. Also the threads in the hub itself seem alittle on the "loose" side and the thread depth is quite shallow. But the MOMO hub adapter is still the best quality hub on the market, imho.

Anyway, I would rather see you take out and put a small dab of loctite on the bolts now, than trying to screw the bolts back in with your finger tip while doing 80mph down the highway.

If I hadn't searched and found this thread, I would have been hornless forever. For future searchers, this post worked for the Momo Monte Carlo steering wheel in my 1982 SC. Momo's instructions got the wheel attached, but they didn't help at all with the extra wire and the horn wiring.

I noticed you have the pinstripe velour seats! I have them in my 928 (below) but I've never seen them in a 911. Very nice departure from the usual leather.:cool:

Did you have to use the club to get the original wheel off? This is perfect timing. I'm thinking about doing this since my hi beam/turn signal switch burnt up right before my eyes. (literally)

I didn't have to use the club on my original wheel, but it had been taken off within the past few months by my shop. I think getting it off for the first time in 20 years would require the club.

This post helped me ALOT!. The Momo graphical instructions suck! I did not know about the turn signal thing and was confused about the horn wiring until I found this post. Thank You!
I would recommend not putting ones tools away until a test drive confirms the steering wheel is straight.
