Side mirror fixes.
So the passenger side mirror broke. It was sort of resting on the post it sits on.
I pulled it off, while it was still connected to the wires I took a look. It had a thick hollow screw that was supposed to be screwed into a thread inside the mirror casing. I couldn't really get it to screw to catch unless I removed the plastic washer attached to the screw. I even tried to compress the spring but that still didn't work. So my mirror is back on safe but with out the washer. And it has a little too much play. Any one know about a solid step by step method of fixing it the right way? thanks in advance. ![]()

You need to buy the special tool so that you can remove the wires from the connector. Once the wires are removed you can take off the mirror and reattach it. Most people don't have the special tool or don't want to buy it so they end up cutting all the wires.]
Excellence magazine had an article on repairing the mirrors a couple of issues back. The writer of the article mention the special tool, but he cut the wire instead of using the tool. |
