Going to the Dyno tomorrow - HP Predictions?
The break-in is complete but no tuning has been done yet. I'm still running stock timing advance of 30-degrees and stock fuel pressures. Idle CO has been set to 2.5%. Going tomorrow to get an idea of what the new engine can do and the all imporant a/f graph.
Any HP predictions? Specs: USA 82 SC 3.0 with JE 9.7:1 pistons Elgin SC330 cams timed at 2.0mm SSI's with Dansk Sport 2/1 Intake ports and runners enlarged to 36mm

Joe,
With the SSI's and the higher CR pistons, the low end torque is much more pronounced now than in stock form. If all else stayed the same, I would agree that increasing the intake sizes may have this affect. BTW: the machinist who did the work recommended keeping the exhaust ports stock for added back pressure to help the low end.

Chuck,
Whose dyno? Engine or chassis? What do you have to compare to, did you dyno before the change? If nothing else, put fresh, high octane gas in it from a known source. Make sure you keep the engine at a reasionably constant temperature. Do you have head temp gague? If a chassis dyno, set your rear tire pressures and note what tires you have (brand, condition, circumfrence.) If all you did was raise the CR, you will be more sensitive to fuel octane. Even at only 9.7:1. Grady

I'd say 190-195 with a disguistingly flat torque curve.

205 rear wheel hp. just cant see how a 3.2 liter can make, on 3 different cars we tested, 210, and a " gone through" 3.0 wont make at least that much.
Jeff's stock 911 3.0 made 172ish, and it was stock with a minor muffler change. Let us know! Mk

Rear wheels? I'll say 180 ponies...maybe even less. There is still some drivetrain power loss, even with a 911

If you had gotten some better, more aggresive cams i think we'd expect more, but the sc330 cams i believe are just marginally more "radical" than the stock cams.
