Re: has anyone used a firm called GT RACING?

My front and rear bumpers and tail came from them. I think there are better companies out there, but for the price I think their stuff is pretty good. The fit on my parts wasn't perfect, but when I've pointed this out to people with experience in that sorta stuff they usually say, "All fiberglass stuff fits like crap" or something.

Can't resist the urge to post a pic:

As you can see, the contour of my tail doesn't fit the rear fender line exactly. Minor stuff.

My ducktail is GT Racing. I bought it used. Based on what I had to do to get it to fit I would not buy new from them.

I've used their ducktails on two different cars and the fit was good with little prep work needed. When one was damaged in shipping they sent a new one the next day.

I bought a fiberglass nose w/ air vent opening for a 951 from them, good prices, but as already stated they don't fit all that great. Although the body guy that i had install it modified it a bit to fit, trim here and there, so it didn't look too bad.

Kinda like what Tod said, I think their stuff is more for race cars. It's lightweight and functional and looks great from 50 ft (or 15 meters) away, but the fit isn't what most Porsche owners feel is appropriate for street cars. It's not horrible, it's just not perfect, for sure.

Searching for "MASHAW" might present difficulties, try "M.A. Shaw" @ (714) 730-6917.

The best (reported) quality aftermarket fiberglass comes from B.W. Motorsports in Illinois, (618) 622-0524. Do a search for them here or look for pictures of Bill Verburg's car. Good luck!

I think GT Racing is one of the better suppliers for new body parts, if you give them the correct year and model I'd be very surprised to hear that they sent parts that don't fit almost perfectly. Plus the quality of their fiberglass seems a lot better than most aftermarket suppliers.

GT Racing is a local company to me... I have their RSR bumpers on my car. The rear needed some work, the front bolted right on... A little custom bracket building for the front side tie ins, but other than that good to go. The Fiberglass prep is top notch and the gel coat was perfect on both. My wing was from Getty design and took quite alot of prep to get it looking good. It's not perfect, but close. On balance I think the cars themselves are more of an issue of fit. No two are perfectly alike. Just about any fiberglass is going to require some work...
