Cool Group buy RUF bumper install

I just thought that I would shoot a couple of pics - the girlfriend is very tired of looking at the car :-) Professedly installed bumpers, 993 mirrors, silver badge on the hood, turbo tail, new tires and wheels and clear front lens.

Next up: exterior trim and door handles painted, new rear lens and reflector, SSI and dansk exhaust, carpet and trim............

Thanks everyone - I have learned so much from this board!
Brendan

I bought one from BW Motorsports after the group buy. But, didn't get the RUF CTR. Got the 930S style for a 911. it'll be installed soon.

Thanks Souk! That means a lot and I just could not pass up those bumpers and Brad was great! Although, they did sit in the garage for a few months as I saved for the installation.

tsuter - TQ and HP???? (HP=horse power)

Always interested in any ideas

Brendan,

Car looks great. I have two questions: 1) what did it run you for the body fit and paint? 2) where did you get those clear corners?

Scott -

Thanks man!

I didn't break it out, but I paid around $1600.00 for installation, paint, new front windshield and seal and rear window seal - all installed. I think myself handy, but not that handy

The front lens I purchased from Mike Healy - bdtwocars@hotmail.com he has an online store.

Any 3/4 shots of the car? Or and shots that show off the front better?

Not a bad price considering all that work. Well worth it. Thanks for the information on those lenses. I have been wanting clear lenses for my silver car (cleaner look), but haven't been able to find both lenses, only found the indicator lens. Thanks for the help.

Looks great! If you could, would you post some more pics of the bumpers - from the side and a full frontal? I am getting really interested in the RUF bumpers myself.

How are the bumpers mounted - did your shop build a support structure of some sort?

Is it my imagination or do the licence plate lights point toward following drivers rather than the plate?

Here are a couple of more shots as requested - I hope that you can see the front better. I live in Portland Oregon and wont have any sunshine for a few more months :-)

The license plate lights are not pointed to the following drivers - I just used my existing lights. They don't work all that well, but they work just the same.

Thanks for all the comments,
bS

Since the original licence lights were mounted prpendicular o their current mount, they are pointed wrong for the application.

You might want to think about BMW lights or something like this

Thanks Bill -

Unfortunately, I wasn't thinking that far ahead when I dropped the car off. And when I went to pick it up - I wanted to drive it now, not later. I will pickup some something better - where did you get yours?

I just picked mine up at a junk yard and refinished them. The're from an 80 something Toyota or Datsun or something ??

The BMW 2002 ones work well also.

Has anyone with the Ruf style bumper successfully put on a front spoiler?

Nice job, Bill!

How did you mount it? Is it just a rubber piece?

Unfortunately what I did is no longer an option. The lip is a Ruf part which they tell me is NLA.

Yes, it is just a nicely shaped piece of rubber, this shot shows the attachment
