Best way (material) to restore metal five hole dash insturment panel

One challenge in restoring the faded black metal five hole instrument dash panel is what is the best material to use to bring it back to life. The instruments are easy to pop out for access to the black faded panel. I have considered black shoe polish or metal polish to restore luster, but I thought I would seek any suggestions from those who have had success with other treatments. Anyone? Thanks Bob 1973.5T | ||

Leather and vinyl dye comes in a spray and have had good luck or leatherique is best. Not cheap.

Simi-gloss black spray paint on the area around the gauges. Mine still looks good after 30 years.

If you've got original paint it will shine up beautifully. Get it clean. Get some rubbing compound and go to it. Wax it and it will probably look amazing.
