There are so many places that he could have parked if he flew out of LAX. If he flew often the family shouuld try and look at past credit card statements and see where he parked.
I also think most of the parking garages log in license plates, so they could maybe write a letter to each parking garage. Michael

Did you try the lot on 2222 Imperial? They use the same parking garage as Hughes and you can park there for months without anyone blinking an eye (had a small lot of cars there at one time).

Hacienda Hotel in El Segundo allows overnight guests to leave a car in the lot for up to two weeks....there are others in the area that do the same.

I was thinking that he should have had some type of parking ticket on him, maybe he did drop it off at a shop for repair. Sad story for the family.

Otto, I think you should do some detective work.
First, check with the credit card companies, banks (ATM withdrawl or checks written), or any other type of money transactions. He may have have left a money paper trail that would allow you to retrace his steps. Second, I would find out all of the available information regarding Trevor's death from the police report. Without getting too personal, some additional information would help out. For example, where was he found (location)? What was the cause of death? What agency handled the policework? Did you notify LAX police department to be on the lookout? David

You shouldn't EVER leave the ticket in the car. A theif breaks in the car, then can use the ticket to get the car out of the lot. Nothing unusual to the lot, so off it goes with no questions.
Some more questions are in order. How long was he supposed to be gone for? Would help where the car likely was going to be. If he dropped it off for service, whoever has it will call when no one shows up to pick it up. Most places do not have a lot of room for parking. I'll keep an eye out for it. Condolences to the family.

If you don't have the ticket don't you just pay a "Maximum" Rate?

Yes, you pay the 'Maximum Rate'. BUT you also have to prove you are related to the car. If your name is not on the Reg, the police are called, and you get to prove it to them.
You have the ticket, the car is yours. In fact a n alternate plan is that the thieves will put a car in the garage same day as the target car, and after breaking in and hot-wiring it, will use their ticket to get your car out. Then several days later, will go back and retrieve their car after 'proving' it is, in fact, theirs. The police (if they have half a brain) will figure out that any lost ticket car retrieved will be a suspect.

I would call the various impound and tow yards in the area - it usually takes several weeks for some of these places to even realize they even have the car but I will keep a look out.
