I would guess that lots sell because they sit in the garage too much.
Sometimes life gets so busy that its tough to get out and smell the roses or in case of 911's, the sweet smell of burning oil!

1. Temporary Insanity
2. Momentary lapse of interest
3. Grass is greener on the other marque

how about top 3 reasons to go back to Porsche:
1. miss that air cooled sound
2. I like my butt hanging out
3. Recognition of the timeless design curves in the 911

Just not a Car/Porsche person. To many moving parts makes them nervous.

Our Disco is officially out of warranty - white knuckle ride for sure. Oh and the 10 mpg average is not all that fun either - especially when my neighbors 5.4 Expedition gets 16 mpg average city/freeway.

1. the reality of owning an old car hits home ($$$)
2. bought on a lark or as part of a mid life crisis, and the bug has passed
3. though it would be faster/more comfortable/get more chicks
4. didn't make owner taller, smarter, better looking or richer (especially the latter).
5. upgrading to another model, or downgrading if they're selling an SC.

I have a house, wife, two kids, and got her the diamond ring (since I got the Porsche), so:

1) I want a 993
2) I want a 993
3) I want a 993
