Calipers

I'm going to be buying new brakepads soon, and I'm not sure which calipers I have. I was looking in the catalogue and my car apparently could have the M, A, or S calipers. Maybe someone has pictures?

Mike,

I just bought Ferado pads for my "77" and they were M calipers, 95mm from bolt centers where they attach. Rotors are 20mm thick. The S calipers are aluminum so a magnet wouldn't stick to them if you tried that.

Suggest you check front and rear on your car as my '74 has the S calipers on the front and M's on the rear.

right, i had s up front and m's in back. the s's are a shiny alum alloy so if you wiped it with a damp cloth you get that zinc-y goldish color. and the magnet wont stick. give me a call if you need help. pm me if you need my number. piece of cake. but the pad spring return spacer plate thingys on my rear calipers came apart at the pop rivet. so keep and eye on it. oh yea the s caliper have two bleeder nipples. inside and out.

both calipers are steel, but that only eliminates the S calipers. How do you tell between the M and A calipers?

2 ways
1) 'A' has 3.5" o/c mounts 'M' has 3"o/c
2) If the front and rear are the same size they are both 'M' if the front is a bit bigger and steel it is an 'A'

I don't suppose that you did a search?

You would be amazed at what you can find?
