God I hope I don't have to do that again!
The sunroof was not closing properly. It became obvious that something was wrong on the passenger side.
It actually comes apart faily easily. And once you remove the motor gear drive, it comes out easily. ![]() The problem was the special nut on the passenger side was missing so the passenger side drive cable wouldn't work. Couldn't find it either. Fortunately I had a 4mmx.70mm tap to make one. Anyone heard of this nut dissapearing?

The trick I always used was to grease the hell out of the cables and to take a flexable rifle brush and clean the crap out of the guide tubes.
Then glue in the guide pin to the rail and insert it into its slot. Then run the cable down the channel - with the guide pin in place, the cable is lines up with the guide tube. What special nut are you talking about? I'm not sure what part you mean. AFJuvat

The cable is held in place with a 4mm screw and a "nut" with cut marks (Teeth) with line up and hold inplace with matching marks (Teeth) against the bracket attached to the sunroof itself.
The "nut" is missing and I couldn't find it anywhere in the catalog. So I made something similar...Bar stock, dremel, drill and tap.

Same nut fell off mine, but I was lucky enough to find it in the roof. It had fallen all the way back near the drain hole. I used a coat hanger with gum on the end to retrieve it. As for installing the cables, I removed the "pipe cleaner" material from the new cables I bought from PP, and I DID NOT grease them. They did require some finesse, but they went in pretty easily. Grease will attract and collect dust, mucking up the whole works in a short period of time.

Hmmmm. I wonder if the PO greased mine....It looked like there was a grease on the cables. It continues to function today!

Mine fell off too...but was able to find it. It determines the height of the panel and careful adjustment makes it "flush" with the roof. It's a serrated washer that looks like it has a flat-cut on the bottom.
