Alan Bishop Engine Rebuild in Mass

I talked to Alan Bishop earlier today. He has a personal car in the pano for sale. Sounds like a pretty solid car with a fresh and strong motor and tranny. I figured this would be a good place to check references.

Anybody have any experience with an engine rebuilt by Alan Bishop? Is there anyone who is close to his shop that either knows this car or could take a look at it for me? The shop is in Marlboro, MA. The car is a Moss Green coupe.

Any help is appreciated.

The 'Butcher of Marlboro"

I probably shouldn't say anything because if you buy the car from him, maybe he will make good on a friend's court judgement against him. I guess not telling you would make it harder for me to sleep at night so..

Yes I know of Alan Bishop and I've seen his work and seen him in action on a friend's motor.
When I saw him work 2 years ago, he didn't even own the proper tools for timing a 911 motor. Example:
Proper tools for timing 911 motor (Bishop tool):
dial indicator and Porsche holder (magnetic dial indicator holder and C-clamp)
41mm crows foot (large impact socket)
Porsche cam holder (screwdriver stuck between chain and sprocket!)
factory spec book or manual (Bruce Anderson's book)

He has lied to my friend and to the Massachusetts court so I wouldn't put too much faith in anything he tells you.

I've also just learned my lesson using him. Although i bought an engine from him years ago. I finally got it going again and complete mechanical failure after 200 miles.

The engine is absolutly useless now and it did have some good parts installed that are all pretty much dead now.

At the time i knew nothing of 911's and the process it takes to rebuild them .

Sorry to bring up an old thread but i thought i would at least search Pelican to see if anyone else had any run-in's..

If anyone would like some more specifics please feel free to email me.
