i heard that human pee works wonders. a landscape guy told me this. i am having the same problem. nothing makes me happy like hitting a cat turd with my lawnmower. i have a "cat woman" a few doors down. she keeps feeding them.

A lot of plant departments in "Lowe's", "Home Depot", "Wal-Mart", "True Value Hardware", etc, stores carry a dog & cat repellent. This stuff is ment to be sprinkled around plants to keep the animals away.

I've found that some of this sprinked around where the P-Car is parked was very helpful.

Cats secrete urea instead of urine. This stuff not only smells, its corossive! I like to use a thick cover or maybe two on a car if it's parked outside.

Good luck,
David Duffield

"Cats secrete urea instead of urine." No. They excrete urine and simply concentrate their urine and add "stinks" (chemical signals to other cats) to it.

You may be thinking of birds which excrete uric acid rather than urea IN the urine, as mammals do.

All I know in relation to using ammonia is on dogs. When (a long time ago) I was a copper, we used a squeeze bottle of ammonia to discourage dogs from attacking us on drug raids. They really disliked the stuff, but it was better than using capsicum spray or a lead injection (not their fault they were owned by scumbags).

What is a fish cop doing on a drug raid? I thought the tag meant wildlife enforcement....

Fishcop 02-01-2004 07:28 PM

I was a "real" policeman years ago before doing a science/law degree and moving to fisheries enforcement ergo Fishcop But I have since moved on to wildlife/environment enforcement...

I liked the Fishcop handle and have kept it :)

Randy Webb 02-01-2004 08:56 PM

Ah... Well good - we need more enforcement in that area.

With all due respect.......WE don't!

Fishcop 02-01-2004 09:21 PM

Trust me Mike.... In Australia we do!

Randy Webb 02-02-2004 10:53 AM

This is OT, but I'll make one reply...

Mike - I'ma professional biologist. Trust me that we need enforcement, and that includes MN. I hope you are neither a poacher nor a polluter.

Neighbors use a version of this on their furniture and it works great...at least in the audible (don't know about ultra-sonic) mode.

Randy, did you ever hang out in a Boston bar under a different name? Disguised as a mailman? Just curious...;) ;) ;)

The cure for a cat that jumps up on your car each night is to place a dozen 6" strips of packing tape (sticky side up, obviously) in their path. Once or twice dealing with the tape monster will cure them.

Not that I condone this type of behavior ;) ;)

this may, will sound strange but get a cat. i had cat problems until i got a cat. big old male (fixed for smell reasons, see above) that patrols the casa and car tops like he owns the place. the cat fights sound creepy sometimes and occasionally i need to get him stiched up (vet friend low $), but all in all good cat deterent.

does he walk on my car and truck? well yes, but since hes my cat it does not bother me as much.....

At one time we had several cats in the hood.
Now we have (7) Porsche owners and no cats.
I wonder what happened?????

Cats belong under hubcaps on a Sunday drive. My Boa would love to have a stray cat for a playmate.
